Clinching is a manufacturing method of mechanically joining two or more materials without the use heat additional components. This process relies on high plastic deformation to create secure bond. technology widely used for various grades and thicknesses. Especially in automotive industry, clinching an alternative resistance spot welding. However, load-bearing capacity clinched joints comparatively lower when compared spot-welded joints. research aimed increase load-carrying To enhance joints, localized modification microstructure was carried out, primarily focusing neck area joint. The alteration within joint accomplished through application heating using welding method. distribution region analyzed light scanning electron microscopy, as well microhardness measurements. Two material grades, micro-alloyed steel HX420LAD+Z dual-phase ferritic–martensitic HCT600X+Z, were tested. Each grade underwent five groups ten samples, which subjected identical experimental conditions local by (RSW) clinching. utilization RSW resulted average enhancement 17% 25% HX420LAD+Z.
